Shifnal Mens Section

There are around 530 men in the section which has its own Captain and President.

Competitions

The Match Committee organise regular Medal and Stableford competitions throughout the year with prizes for each Handicap Division.

Mixed and Open Competitions are also available.

From October onwards the Match Committee organise a regular series of Christmas Competitions culminating in the Christmas Fayre weekend in December where all the prizes are distributed.

Honours Board Competitions

The men play for 21 Honours Board trophies on a Medal or Stableford basis throughout the year.

Trophies and prizes are distributed at the Annual Awards Evening in November.

Matches

A series of home and away matches versus other local clubs are available to all members. These games are organised by the Vice-Captain and selection is on a fair shares for all basis.

There are both Scratch (Hargrove Trophy) and Handicap teams playing in leagues organised by the County. These teams are selected on merit.

Special Mention

One Honours Board competition merits special mention. This is the Festival Cup which is a competition played over two days in late August, with an overnight stay, on an away course or courses. This competition proves very popular with members and usually places go fast when they open early in the year.
